National Night Out 2024 Success

A huge thanks for yet another successful NNO! We could not have accomplished that without the Los Paseos neighborhood community participating in this annual event! As well as a special call out to our sponsors, businesses, first responders (SJPD, SJFD, CHP) and leaders that help build our communities. The photos of the event can be seen here for the fun time had by all. Live music, games for the kids, chalk art contest, free food, and opportunities to meet each other and community businesses to learn about socially relevant topics to our everyday lives.

If you could not attend this year, please, join us on the first Tuesday in August next year. Hope to see you and partake in our annual summer event.

National Night Out 2024

Attention all Los Paseos neighbors. National Night Out is almost upon us!

It is held the first Tuesday of August every year at Los Paseos Park.

This year, the festivities begin: Tuesday August 6, 2024 from 5:00-8:00pm
Location: Los Paseos Park

Tell your neighbors!
Gather everyone!
Head to the park for food, fun, and music!!!

Come meet other community members, and enjoy the last summer hoorah before the kids go back to school!

Father’s Day Car Show 2024

As a public service, to help spread the word for an annual local event, Bernal Church is hosting an event for Foster the City

Where: 160 Bernal Rd
San Jose, CA 95119
When:   June 16, 2024
9:00AM – 2:00PM

This is their annual Father’s Day Car Show benefiting foster families. Come support Foster the City, a coalition of churches training support teams for foster families and increasing stability for the children from hard places.

Entrance is free. Raffle with many prizes suitable for all ages! Come enjoy the show, have some BBQ. Donations encouraged! All proceeds go to the organization, Foster the City

Reporting Illegal Fireworks

With the summer holidays approaching, the warmer weather, fire season, and school drawing to a close there will undoubtedly be people with more time on their hands. Often, it ends with mischievous behavior, if not outright illegal. One of the prevalent problems facing our community is the repeated use of fireworks. Fireworks in the City of San Jose are illegal!

Many in the community worked tirelessly with the City and law enforcement agencies to update the City’s laws and enforcement policies regarding the use of illegal fireworks.

The city is taking a slightly different approach this year.  They are requesting to NOT report illegal fireworks via the police emergency or non-emergency phone numbers. Instead, they updated their 311 app to allow quicker and more efficient reporting of illegal fireworks.

    • Use of the app in anonymous mode results only in data collection for trouble spots around the city, and no citations issued.
    • However, if you log in to the 311 app, code enforcement will be notified and citations issued to the offending party
