Holiday Yard Trees and Holiday Event
Hello, Los Paseos Neighbors.LPNA is again offering 4-5 feet tall Plantation Douglas fir trees available for sale at our cost to people who want to place them into their yard. Cost this year is $23.75 per tree, and $9.95 for rebar (5/8”x6 feet tall). Rebar for those who don’t already have one.Please order your tree by Monday, October 30, so the trees can be prepared for shipment from the Washington Plantation Douglas fir site, arriving in time here for the Holiday Event pickup day.The trees can be picked up at the Los Paseos Holiday Event on Saturday, Dec 2, at the Los Paseos HOA clubhouse at 7047 Via Ramada starting at 10 o’clock. The trees will look as good as they did last year. City of San Jose Junk Pickup
If you did not make use of the Dumpster Day event organized between the District 10 office and LPNA at Los Paseos Elementary on Saturday 10/21, 2023 don’t worry. You can still utilize the city’s Junk Pickup service. Follow the instructions to arrange an appointment for Junk pickup as specified on the city website.

Los Paseos Dumpster Day
When: 10/21, 8am-noon
Where: Los Paseos Elementary SchoolDistrict 10 Office of Councilmember Arjun Batra is partnering with Los Paseos Neighborhood Association to sponsor a free neighborhood dumpster day. D10 office is providing the dumpsters and volunteer snacks/water and LPNA is providing the volunteers.
We are offering priority dumping opportunity before 8:00 to anyone who volunteers for 1 hour. We need volunteers to attend to each dumpster and directing traffic to available dumpsters. We also need some help with occasional heavy lifting. Residents will be responsible for unloading their items for the most part, but we need to have a few volunteers available to help with larger items.

When: Saturday, 10/7 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Where: Starbucks (in Lucky’s Shopping Center on Bernal Road, next to the bagel store.)

It’s going to be some officers, CSOs, and possibly Crime Prevention Specialists who service our area in south San Jose. Please feel free to pass this on to your Los Paseos neighbors, and stop by to get to know your officers. They would love to see you out there. -

There will be a nationwide Emergency Alert Test on:
Wednesday Oct. 4th, 2023 at approximately 11:20 AM PT (2:20 PM ET).
This is a TEST only!
It will be on cell phones, radio, and television.
This is conducted by FEMA and the FCC (Federal Emergency Management Agency & Federal Communications Commission).

Zoom Meeting – Cost-benefit analysis of Portable Housing at Via Del Oro/San Ignacio Site
Tonight, Oct 2, 5:30 p.m. there is a Zoom meeting regarding the cost-benefit analysis of Emergency Interim Housing (EIH) housing at Via Del Oro/San Ignacio site. Information, with a Zoom link, is below.Proposed Via Del Oro site for moveable sleeping cabins
City staff is completing a cost-benefit analysis that will be shared with the community at a virtual meeting on October 2, 2023, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please click below for the Zoom link: https://bit.ly/SJzoom10-02-2023.
This site has been moved forward by the City Council for a cost-benefit analysis only at this time. It is anticipated a cost-benefit analysis will be conducted during the summer of 2023, and both a follow-up community meeting and a return to the City Council will happen in August or September 2023.
On May 30th, staff hosted a community meeting to discuss the proposed interim housing community of moveable sleeping cabins in the Via Del Oro neighborhood. Below are slides from that meeting.
