  • Paseos #2 Sign Posts update

For those wondering about the Paseos signposts project, Greg Peck and his team of volunteers are in the process of finishing them for Paseo #2 extending between Avenida Espana and Cheltenham Way.

Many of you walking through the neighborhood may have seen the ones installed along Paseo #1 extending between the Tennis courts and Avenida Rotella. The signposts clearly demark the streets intersecting the Paseo. Paseo 2 will soon enjoy similar amenities.

For your enlightenment, Greg shared a video of the signposts undergoing a router inscribing each street name. Thanks for all the hard work to beautify the neighborhood!

  • Chat with Matt this Thursday March 10 at 6pm

    Dear Neighbor,

This week’s Chat with Matt will feature a special guest: our new Southern Division Captain, Brian Matchett. I’m excited to introduce Captain Matchett and give him a little time to share his vision for public safety in our neighborhoods and take your safety-related questions.

Our team will also take a few minutes to address the recent concerns raised by residents regarding building electrification proposals in San Jose. In the meantime, you can learn more about city staff’s draft proposal and offer your public comment to help shape the debate at City Hall.

Please RSVP for our Chat with Matt this Thursday, March 10th at 6pm here:

  • Matt Mahan State of District 10 Zoom Meeting, January 29th

Many of the neighborhoods around Santa Teresa Blvd have been moved into District 10 via the recent redistricting process. Los Paseos neighborhood will be in District 10 effective February 11th. Our new Councilmember will be Matt Mahan.

Matt is hosting his annual State of the District Zoom meeting on January 29th at 3:00 pm (register/RSVP below). This is a good opportunity to meet our new Councilmember. The Los Paseos Neighborhood Association (LPNA) has been in touch with Matt’s office to introduce our Neighborhood Association, and to establish a positive working relationship with the D10 office and ensure a smooth transition.

    Matt’s message:
Dear Neighbors, Last year, over 500 of you joined me for our first “State of the District”. As promised, our office has made this an annual event so that the District 10 community can come together to reflect on our work over the past year, celebrate wins, and discuss the challenges we will take on in the year ahead.

This year’s State of the District will take place via Zoom on Saturday, January 29th at 3pm. Please RSVP for the event here in order to receive the event link:

Last year, you may remember that we circulated a community survey prior to the event to help residents identify their top priorities, rate their satisfaction with City Hall and the D10 Council Office specifically, and suggest neighborhood-level improvements we might work on together. I would really appreciate if you would take 5 minutes to complete this year’s survey:

Survey responses will be kept anonymous, but we will aggregate the feedback to report out at the State of the District on the 29th. We’re looking forward to comparing this year’s data with last year’s to identify important changes.

Thank you for being an active member of our community. I’m grateful for the many ways you participate in and give back to our district. I look forward to seeing you and our neighbors on Saturday the 29th at 3pm! Sincerely, Matt Mahan
    _____________________________________________

Neighbors, we hope you can register and make it to Matt’s meeting. And, take the survey.
