AT&T – traditional landline service provider (also Internet Service Provider)
(800)-288-2020
NOTE: If a traditional landline service is undesirable, the alternatives include:
- VoIP services utilizing an Internet connection
- Cellular services
The caveat to the alternatives requires VoIP users complete e-911 registration so emergency services dispatch to the appropriate location. Since VoIP services are location independent dialing 911 from this service could delay response if dispatch does not have current up to date location. All VoIP providers notify their end users to update the e-911 documentation. It is highly discouraged to relocate VoIP service hardware to multiple locations (e.g. home and office) while relying on it for emergency use.
Cellular users dialing 911 automatically forward GPS current location information to the CHP response center. Additionally, cellular coverage is very spotty within the Los Paseos neighborhood. T-mobile seems to provide the strongest coverage due to close proximity to a tower situated within a neighborhood mall. Other market providers are hit and mostly miss. If reception is available it is typically ONLY outside the home. Interior coverage requires pico-cell repeaters obtained from the respective cellular provider or Calling over WiFi capability (T-mobile – all phones, and AT&T – check website for up to date listing of phones supporting this capability, not all of theirs support this feature)
Comcast – Cable TV, Internet Service, VoIP
Kaiser Permanente – Local Hospital within 2.5 miles of the neighborhood
Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center
250 Hospital Parkway
