Matt Mahan State of District 10 Zoom Meeting, January 29th
Many of the neighborhoods around Santa Teresa Blvd have been moved into District 10 via the recent redistricting process. Los Paseos neighborhood will be in District 10 effective February 11th. Our new Councilmember will be Matt Mahan.
Matt is hosting his annual State of the District Zoom meeting on January 29th at 3:00 pm (register/RSVP below). This is a good opportunity to meet our new Councilmember. The Los Paseos Neighborhood Association (LPNA) has been in touch with Matt’s office to introduce our Neighborhood Association, and to establish a positive working relationship with the D10 office and ensure a smooth transition.Matt’s message:Dear Neighbors, Last year, over 500 of you joined me for our first “State of the District”. As promised, our office has made this an annual event so that the District 10 community can come together to reflect on our work over the past year, celebrate wins, and discuss the challenges we will take on in the year ahead.This year’s State of the District will take place via Zoom on Saturday, January 29th at 3pm. Please RSVP for the event here in order to receive the event link:Last year, you may remember that we circulated a community survey prior to the event to help residents identify their top priorities, rate their satisfaction with City Hall and the D10 Council Office specifically, and suggest neighborhood-level improvements we might work on together. I would really appreciate if you would take 5 minutes to complete this year’s survey:Survey responses will be kept anonymous, but we will aggregate the feedback to report out at the State of the District on the 29th. We’re looking forward to comparing this year’s data with last year’s to identify important changes.Thank you for being an active member of our community. NNO 2021 Despite COVID-19
It’s been a rough year for everyone, and disappointed that LPNA was unable to hold our NNO annual event last year in 2020. With vaccinations and a semi return to normalcy, we held our NNO (National Night Out) this year, again at Los Paseos Park. Many of our neighbors graciously and safely attended. Thanks to those attending the event and thoughtful enough to mask up to protect yourselves and your fellow neighbors. It was a great evening of snacks, ice cream, bubbles, games, chalk art contest, live music, and meeting first responders and businesses that support our community.
For those unable to attend, below are photos from the event so you can see what you missed. Maybe we will see you at another LPNA event, or at NNO 2022. Until then, stay safe! Look out for one another!

National Night Out 2021
Hi Neighbors,National Night Out is Back!!Los Paseos 6th Annual National Night Out:
Tuesday, August 3, 2021, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Los Paseos ParkThe first Tuesday in August is National Night Out (NNO). We had to take a year off due to COVID-19, but we are planning a great event this year. The main purpose of this event is to promote public safety and reduce crime by getting to know your neighbors. Los Paseos Neighborhood Association is hosting this event on August 3 at Los Paseos Park. So come out and meet your neighbors and enjoy the great music of Crimson Blues, Brian the Bubble Guy, games, Kid’s Chalk Art Contest, free snacks and free ice cream. Members of SJPD and other Crime Prevention Specialists, will attend, and if available, SJFD (Station 27). Also scout troops and some local vendors will have resource tables. The Cub Scouts will be doing their traditional flag ceremony.
We will follow the guidance of the Santa Clara County Health Department regarding COVID-19 restrictions & recommendations. Due to health concerns, we will not have the jumpy houses this year or the face painting, but plenty of other safe activities. Masks are optional since this is an outdoor event.We are looking for volunteers to help make this event a success. We need volunteers to hand out snacks, help at the sign-in table, judging the Chalk Art Contest, and help setting up the event and tearing down after the event.
